Supermarche Akhavan

I bought a bowl of ash e reshte for my friend’s 5-year old kid and it terribly smelled like an ash tray. I am really dissatisfied with their products’ quality and service.

Incredible choice of groceries for all cuisines - especially Middle Eastern and Persian. Fresh vegetables, nuts, cheeses, sweets, and then some! Free parking. Best shopping time: Tuesday mornings. Many good breakfast places in the vicinity! Make the time. Pay a visit.

I've been 2 all the stores on the island of Montreal and this is by far the best. Lots of parking and wheelchair accessible. Fantastic little restaurant and amazing sweets.

Best supermarket in Montreal along with Milano of course. Best saffron, pistachios, barberry, feta, in the city also they have pretty much any spices you can imagine and with considerably cheaper prices than the rest of the supermarkets. Also they specialize in tea so you can even find Argentine mate with the cheapest price in the city.

Easily the best supermarket in Montreal. Their meat is always fresh & reasonably priced, the produce section is a delight and they have varieties of olives and nuts you can't find anywhere else. Oh and there's a lunch counter where you can have amazing kebabs to refuel before or after shopping.

Most of products are from Iran. Also from Afghanistan or India. Good thing u can find if you are from middle east or even if you are looking for such products. Common things which are available in normal groceries, are a bit more expensive in here. Nice and friendly staff. Fruits, vegetables, different kinds of meat. Available free parking with on-side trolleys.

Purchased moldy potatoes tonight, I'll be returning them them tomorrow in exchange for something fresh or what I paid. I expect to not have an issue doing so as I've never had any problems with freshness in my produce before. I always come here for groceries it's great

Middle-East and Mediterranean food.

Vast selection of middle eastern dried foods such as dried mulberries, barberries and dried limes. Rare cuts of meats and offals including lamb brain and testicles. Middle eastern seasonings, syrups, cheeses, yogurts. Fresh sour cherries. And a cooked food counter where you can have a quick lunch.

They make their own products! My favourit grocery shop! All the healthy food you need! Quality for a good price really!

Always a great selection of foods.Social distancing seems to be reinforced enough. No one follows the arrows on the floors nor do they keep a 6 feet distance.

Great market! NDG staple and best Middle-Eastern / Mediterranean supplies in the area! And ready-to-eat resto counter if great too!! Order food, shop, eat!

When you arrive at this store, know that this is one of the best grocery stores in all of Montreal. Fresh fruits & veggies, great meat selection, tons of dry goods in bulk and always a very helpful staff waiting to serve you. And we haven't even gotten to the prepared foods, AWESOME! Just the smell when you walk in the door makes my day.

Good selection of foods and good prices when they have sales. Some fruits/veggies have seen better days. The cashiers are not very helpful, friendly, competent, or even verbal. They’ll stare off into the abyss while you’re entering your pin to pay and then toss your bill at you while you frantically try to bag your items before they toss the next clients items.

Yesterday I was here with my husband I brought him for first time he was so excited to see Persian store. we arrived in a counter buying Pistachios, two employees were there with no client so he said Hi to one of them the girl turned her face without answering his hi and said you should wait.then left the counter.I was so shamed and embarrassed in front of my husband.It didn't finish there.we were buying and another lady was helping to put them on bags she returned and told me I need to leave because on another woman was waiting behind me that was so embarrassed then I complained that the way you threat to client in the middle of their shopping clinet again she turned her face without apologiesI would have given one stare but I gave 2 just because of that nice lady helped us in counter I said I wish everyone work like you Please if you feel not good stay home you don't need to ruin other people's mood just because you are disappointed with your life

Good prices, everything you need. I love to go here for the meat as it’s usually well priced and of good quality! The ready to eat counter is also great for snacks like samosas, patties, desserts, and different curries.

Love the variety of food, the service, and the general ambience. Their butcher section is great, regardless of what you're looking for as is everything else.

Great choice of products but I just noticed that a Swiss cheese I bought there a week ago had a packaged date in the future (August 15th, today is August 13th) and this explains why it tasted stale. Too bad I feel I can't trust this shop while they have a great selection of products, like breads and teas, I might still go there but I feel cheated on quality.

I love we have Yerba mate here. And all the bulk products are excellent.

In an era when trade between Canada and Iran is almost non existent, and considering a country such as Iran in which almost all import/export business is in the direct control and monopoly of the corrupt ruling class, one has to wonder whose capital is behind the Akhavan brothers. Their 'family business' started as a depanneur-size ethnic store in the 1980s and now suddenly operates from three prime locations with the value of its real estate alone estimated in the tens of millions of dollars.
